But I want to control to release/decay of the notes so I don't have 10 seconds of ultra ringy Glockenspiel ring or boomy percussion tails I might not want in my mix. In most Spitfire libraries I can't even control the release! The release!!!Īnd no, usually when it says "release" this refers to lengthening or shortening the release sample. That's also why I'm about 50% less likely to buy non-Kontakt libraries. ![]() I can understand it if a developer locks the script itself.īut especially when not providing enough controls on the interface (my definition is enough is - every control you can think of, hidden away in a panel so it doesn't bother when not needed) it's almost like a provocation. What are they trying to hide anyway? Magical ADSR settings? Magical chains of internal Kontakt distortion and reverb? Whereas people who just want to get something to work better for their needs are damned and will be much more apprehensive to do that. It's idiotic because anyone with malicious intent will be able to get a cracked Kontakt with ease and will be able to look under the hood. It's become a major part of how I work with samples to make customized versions and sometimes patches that were useless before became a brilliant addition to my template after tweaks. This is the reason I may eventually switch to cracked Kontakt again.
